Cloning a Blueprint

Cloning a Blueprint

As you build and manage CRM Blueprints for various business processes, there will be situations where some processes are similar in nature. In such cases instead of creating new blueprints from scratch and repeating the stages and details all over again, you may simply clone a Blueprint to another layout and make the required changes.

While cloning a blueprint you can:
  1. Add new states to the cloned blueprint: If you want to add more states to the cloned blueprint you can add it while cloning.
  2. Map the existing states to the new states: You can map the states from the existing blueprint with that of the cloned blueprint. For example, the state "xyz" of the existing blueprint can be mapped with the state "abc" of the cloned blueprint. However, you can map the states only if both the layouts have equal or greater number of values in the picklist field.
To clone a Blueprint
  1. Go to Setup > Process Management Blueprint.
  2. Hover the blueprint you want to clone and click More > Clone.
  3. In the Clone Blueprint popup, do the following:
  4. Enter the New Blueprint Name.
  5. Choose the layout from the drop-down list.
  6. Select the  field from the drop-down list.
    Here there are two possibilities.
    1. If you have additional stages in your new process,  Click Create New States to add them.

    2. If both blueprints have equal number of states, simply click  Map your existing states to new states finalize the stages for the new Blueprint.

  7. Click Clone.
Note
  1. You can always delete the existing states from a cloned blueprint in the blueprint editor.
  2.  Bluprints that are published can only be cloned.
  3. You can clone an exact copy of the Bleuprint when you are cloning within the same layout and for the same field as that of the original blueprint.
  4. While cloning blueprints in the Deals module, you can create new states and specify the ProbabilityForecast TypeForecast Category from the Clone Blueprints page.
